The History of Ecco Founded in 1963 by Karl Toosbuy. Karl sold up all his belongings and took the huge step to move his family to a small rural town in Denmark called Bredebro. His ethos was simple – Combine innovation and technology along with an understanding of how the human foot works to produce high quality golf shoes for all. Today the company boasts 20,000 employees from over 50 countries and is still Headquarters in Denmark. Ecco are taking comfort performance and convenience within the golf shoe market o a whole new level. Whilst this is been imitated by its competitors Ecco has led every step of the way. Ecco Street Hybrid Launched by Ecco in 2009 the golf shoe became not just a golf shoe. Ecco relyed on 50 years experience and created the “all day” outsole and proved to be one of the most significant advances in modern day golf footwear. This was initially labelled by some as the “concept shoe” the Street shoe has become one of the best selling styles in the history of golf. Ecco Biom Natural Motion Known as “Barefoot Technology”, natural motion dominates the running shoe market and has now become a huge golf footwear trend. The BIOM was launched in 2010 and was the first natural motion golf shoe. 2500 athletes feet were scanned resulting in a performance shoe that uses the bodys natural system for absorbing impact, while creating a platform that enhances athletic performance. Ecco Perfomance Hybrid With boundries pushed further and further by Ecco, the Biom Hybrid was launched in 2011. This combines all the benefits of the Stret outsole with the natural motion technology of the Biom golf shoes. BIOM technology Did you know, the human foot includes 26 bones, 32 muscles and 107 ligaments. These all act as natural shock absorbers for each step. Biom technology frees rather than inhibits the foot muscles and encourages each step to land more towards the mid foot rather than heel. Hydromax Performance characteristics of Hydromax are integrated into the leather during the tanning process ensuring the superb weather and perspiration resistance properties last for the entire life of the shoes YAK Leather The YAK lives in Tibet. It lives in exteme weathers and its hide with stands extremes with no problem making it first choice at Ecco. YAK has a very unique and individual look differing from hide to hide and is very soft but extremely strong. Been so thin, this allows Ecco to reduce the weight of its golf shows and not sacrifice strength or durability.
