The Push

Symptoms

 

The ball sets off straight to the right of the target.

DIAGNOSIS
Possible set-up faults could be

  • The body is aligned to the right of the target.
  • The ball position could be too far back in the stance.
  • The body weight could be positioned on the heels.
  • The grip could be in a weak position.

Possible swing faults could be:

  • The backswing could be too flat (too far around the body) (see illustration below)
  • The down swing may be started with to much independent forward, lateral movement of the hips.
  • results in the lower half of the body been too far in front of the ball at impact.
