Ensure the body weight is positioned
across the balls of the feet (see photo above)
Check at setup:
The clubface is aligned correctly
(leading edge at 90° to target line)
The hands are positioned opposite
the inside of the left thigh.
The ball is positioned appropriate
to club selection.
Align the feet, knees, hips
and shoulders parallel to your target line.
You have a neutral grip (see back
to basics/grip) (see photo above)
During the swing check:
The backswing is on plane. Notice from the picture
to the right that at the half back stage the club
shaft is parallel to the line across the toes.
To initiate the downswing ‘pull the chain’.
This means that for the first part of the downswing
the hips are inactive as the body weight remains
on the right knee until the club has reached half
way down.
From this point only can the ball be attacked
with a drive of the entire right half of the body
including the:
Right knee
Right shoulder
Right for arm
Right wrist
Notice this from the picture below and how the
right hand rotates over the left during impact.
This can be achieved only if the height I started
my swing at is maintained throughout.
