Rules
- Always carry a rules book
- Check on the club notice board for any local rules. These
could be crucial and used to your advantage.
| Course knowledge
- Purchase a course planner
- If there is not a course planner,
ask the professional if there are any hidden dangers anywhere
eg. Ditches, ponds, tree copses, blind driving holes.
- Spend some time on the putting green
- Practice the longer putts to
get a feel for the speed of the grass.

Warm Up
- Adopt an appropriate routine to stretch relevant muscle group’s
prior to play.
- This should be repeated at regular intervals during the round.
Remember a round
of golf can last up to 5 hours.
- Arrive early and hit some golf balls on the range or practice
ground.
- A golf pro would never start a competition without warming
up first, why do you?
- Have a moment and prepare yourself mentally. Positive swing
thoughts and good visualisation of your shot type.

You may be out on a golf course for up to 5 hours.
- Water, fruit, dry fruit, high carbohydrate drinks, chocolate
bar, cereal bars.
These are some of the provisions that will enable you to keep
stock of your energy levels.
