Grip
The grip is vital to the Golf Swing, underestimate it
at your peril.
The common trait for a lady is to position the hands
too far to the left of the grip. This places the hands in what’s
called a ‘week’ position, which in turn opens and adds loft
to a golf club through impact and reduces power.
(see photo below left)
The grip must be adjusted to the neutral position with
2-2½ knuckles on the left hand visible.
(see photo below centre)
The baseball grip (10 figures on the club)
(see photo below left)
Should be used initially and later perhaps the interlocking
grip
(see photo bottom centre)
Read Golfsupport Fundamentals
Section.
The common trait for the male golfer is to position
the hands to the right of the grip which in turn can either naturally
close the clubface or even open the clubface on impact.
(see photo below right)
This typical male grip is more hazardous and more difficult
to adjust, as the correction will feel particularly week in the hands
for sometime. The benefits however are enormous!!!
The grip should be adjusted to a neutral position with
2-2½ knuckles on the left hand visible. (see fundamentals
section)
The interlocking or Vardon style grip should be
used.
